Denise Terzi - Arts Therapy, Psychotherapy, and Counselling Services in Barnstaple, North Devon
About Me

I began my career as a Therapist in 1999 when I made the decision to study for an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Following this I went on to train with Relate so that I could work with couples who were experiencing difficulties in their relationships. As my experience grew I was drawn to working with the arts and I went on to train with the Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education in London where I gained a diploma in the Therapeutic Application of the Arts. This gave me greater insight and awareness of how powerful using the arts could be and so I decided to continue to study Integrative Arts Psychotherapy and obtained my Masters Degree. My most recent training has been in Counselling for Depression.

I have a vast wealth of experience working within the NHS and within The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. I have also worked for Buckinghamshire County Council, and within a forensic setting. As well as this I have experience of working within the charitable sector with women survivors of sexual abuse and victims of atrocities. I have a special interest in working with people who have depression and anxiety and with people who have experienced trauma in their lives. I also have experience of working for Relate, providing couple counselling.
